Banana, cacao nibs, and raw almonds
We need a little umpff to get us going before a workout, but we don’t want to fill our bellies (ouch!). If you like to get up in the morning and work out before eating a big meal, this is the best pre-workout power snack. The banana provides energy and potassium for the muscles. The raw cacao nibs offer super antioxidant fuel being ½ carbohydrate and ½ fat (not to mention a little caffeine), and the almonds provide some fat to help the banana metabolize evenly (so you don’t get a sugar rush and then crash). Just have a couple spoonfuls, and you are good to go.
Feel free to change up the ingredients to add variety.
Just make sure to have some sugar/carbs and some fat. Some of my other favorites are banana with coconut butter and cacao nibs or apple with almond butter and cacao nibs. If you are nixing sugar all together, just have a spoonful of coconut butter with a sprinkle of cacao nibs. Delicious!!
