a WEEK in PARADISE at this Winter Aerial Retreat with new friends, the beach, delicious, fresh, local food, and loads of Aerial Silks and Lyra.
Winter Aerial Retreat is for aerial students at the intermediate/advanced level of aerial training. Daily classes will be focused on technique/skills, choreography, performance skills, and stretching. Apparatuses include Aerial Silks and Hoop. We will teach skills and technique stressing how to use the body most efficiently, and how to train in a way that gives you the results you want. We will get juicy and flexible, and do some handstands too! It will be super fun!
This Winter Aerial Retreat will have 2 daily classes – Morning class will be aerial skills and stretching with focus on how to use your body most efficiently. Afternoon classes will be sequencing, choreography, floor work, and creative performance skills. We will also have open workout time including all apparatuses. The rest of our time can be spent eating amazing, healthy food, swimming in the warm ocean, reading in hammocks, and breathing the tropical air. There will be time to explore local markets and beaches as well as the local night life. At the end of the week, we will have a performance / party for everyone to celebrate.
All Levels WELCOME!
Aerial students of all levels are welcome on this Winter Aerial Retreat. We will accommodate different levels. You also have the desire to move, play, breathe, feel, stretch, and express. This is where you are invited to shine and be yourself!
Jen has been teaching and practicing for many years. She will give you the challenges that you want and need. This retreat is limited to 10 participants, so sign up now.
Sample of daily schedule

8-10am Coffee, Tea and Breakfast
10am-1pm Skills and stretching
2-4pm Pool-time, surfing, lounging, tanning, relaxing
4-6pm Sequencing, choreography, floor work, performance skills, & open workout time
6-7pm Beach Play and Sunset
On the day off, there will be an optional Open Gym/Skill Share session. We will also go to a local beach and release baby turtles.
Delicious and Healthy Meals
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is included on this Winter Aerial Retreat. The food will be grounding, nourishing and amazing! Our meal master, “Skillet,” presents simple, healthy and delicious meals made with fresh, local ingredients. Most meals include eggs, chicken and/or fish, and vegetarian/vegan options are always available. We can accommodate most special dietary needs.
After dinner we will offer evening activities from partner massage and sharing to an optional adventure to the Phosphorescence Lagoon. There are also plenty of local night markets and discos for you night owls.
Winter Aerial Retreat will be held at an amazing community complex a short walk from the beach. In addition to clean and safe accommodations, there is a swimming pool, an ocean view palapa practice space, lots of grass and hammocks for relaxing between classes, and an amazing ocean view area. Just outside our living/training complex there are cafes, shops, and local markets to explore. The neighborhood, called La Punta, is small, quiet, and full of friendly people. Surf lessons are available in La Punta. Just a mile down the beach is Playa Zicatela where you can find bars, restaurants, discos, nightlife, and plenty of surf shops to buy Mexican trinkets, beach garb, and anything else you might need. Jennifer Kovacs is a NYC based contemporary dancer and aerialist. She has traveled both nationally and internationally to perform and teach. Her career has lead her to work with a variety of talented choreographers and producers including; Jordann Baker, Lynn Barr, Jac Bowie, Jana Hicks, Andrew Katz, David Lay, Shien Lee, Jenny Rocha, and Nejla Yatkin.
During her career, Jen has performed as an in-house aerialist at The Box NYC and frequently on stage at The Slipper Room. She is currently the lead aerialist for Ultra Music Festival in Miami and March 2018 marks her sixth year with the UMF team. From 2011 until their closing in 2014 she was a resident aerialist at Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO. Other credits include performing silks and lyra at a small family gathering for Ariana Grande (Grandpa Grande’s 90th birthday party), atmospheric lyra at Usher’s surprise 36th birthday bash, organizing and performing in a group silks show at the 2014 Dubai Food Festival, background lyra in a 2015 NFL Superbowl promo commercial for Fox, performing aerial chains on NBC daytime television and aerial hoop in the opening credits of Saturday Night Live. In 2016 Jen officially founded Inverted Aerial. Using her years of experience, Inverted Aerial specializes in luxury aerial entertainment and organizes aerial retreats around the globe.
When not performing Jen teaches weekly classes in NYC. In 2015 she co-founded and was aerial director of Brooklyn AirSpace. Currently, you can find her on staff as an aerial instructor at Aerial Arts NYC, Body and Pole, and her own Inverted Aerial. Studios where she has taught workshops include Circus Warehouse (NYC), The Skybox (NYC), Sky Candy (Austin, TX), Vertical Fitness Dallas (Dallas, TX), and Studio Cirqus (CA), among others.
Kerri Kresinski, aerial silks master teacher and performer, has been performing and teaching acrobatics, yoga, dance, and aerial arts for over 15 years throughout the world. Her life’s work, as an artist and a leader, has been to develop and deepen her study of the body—physically, emotionally and spiritually. She has learned that anything is possible with patience, discipline and a positive attitude. Kerri expresses her passion and spirit through movement, and feels that the body is the gateway to the higher powers for healing, transformation and expression. She is truly a unique performer, engaging, thrilling, and moving audiences with her skills, style, and heart. She is a co-founder of Sweet Can Circus and the founder/director of Sweet Retreats. Kameko Shibata, a yogini Ayurvedic practitioner by day, is a fierce aerial performer by night. She brings her passion for human strength and grace into captivating performances that invite you to become radically present. She specializes in dynamic aerial rope, inspired by the simple and stark nature of the apparatus. Inspired by the natural world, live musical collaborations, social justice story telling, site specific work, invented apparatuses, and warm beverages of all kind she uses performance as a invitation for deeper engagement with ourselves, each other, environment and community.

- Pay your tuition. Once you fill out the registration form, you will receive an email with payment information. You must pay a $500 deposit to secure your spot. Full payment is due by December 23, 2018.
- Do not book travel yet. Once we confirm your registration, we will send you information about booking travel.
