At Sweet Retreats programs, we co-habitate in a close community setting and share personal space.  For this reason, we are committed to transparency and clear, proactive communication!  We realize that this may not be comfortable for everyone.  Therefore we will always be respectful and mindful in our communication.

Remember that if you are sick, we will work together to take care of you!  Our goal is to facilitate an environment that builds trust and increases social support, without stigma or blame.

We have adopted a Mask Positive Culture at Sweet Retreats.  This means that whenever anyone in our pod group is feeling unwell for any reason, we promise to put on a mask.  Even if it is a common cold, it is kind and respectful to wear a mask in order to prevent our community from catching our cold.  Please be respectful of this during your stay at Casa Chango Mexico.

In the event that a resident experiences any of the following symptoms:

  • Body Aches
  • Runny nose
  • Sore throat
  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Dry cough

    • Positive test result = notify Management (Kerri), describing symptoms and when they started.
    • Negative test result = Stay masked until the you are retested in 1-2 days and your symptoms go away.
  • Management will then notify the group, our staff, and others outside of our group that live/work on-site.
  • Group members will immediately distance and/or mask to prevent possible further spread.
  • Infected person will enter into an isolation period.  If they are in shared housing, they must move to private accommodation. We will help them look for an accommodation for isolation, but the price of the accommodation will be at their own expense.
  • Meals, water, items from the pharmacy, etc. will be brought to you.

If your symptoms become severe enough to require hospitalization, we will assist in transport to the one of the hospitals indicated below (the Puerto Escondido Hospital Ángel del Mar does not take COVID-19 patients). All treatment and transportation costs will be your responsibility.
