Sweet Retreats Registration

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay in full now, or can I send a deposit to save my spot?

You can save your spot by paying a deposit. Deposits for week-long retreats are $500 USD / $10,000 MXN. Deposits for residency programs are $1000 USD / $20,000 MXN.

When is payment due in full?

Full payment is due 30 days before the first day of the retreat/residency program.

What is the early bird discount?

The $300 early bird discount expires 3-4 months before the program begins. In order to get the early bird discount, you must pay IN FULL before the cut off date. After that, you will have to pay full tuition.

What is the alumni discount?

If you have come to a retreat or residency program previously at Sweet Retreats, you automatically get a $200 alumni discount for your next retreat.

What is the referral discount and how does it work?

Word of mouth is our best advertising, and we love to reward people for recruiting new retreaters. For some retreats you get $100 USD off your tuition for each new retreater (someone who has never been on a Sweet Retreat before) you refer to a retreat. You can refer someone to a different retreat that you are going to or bring a friend to the same retreat you are attending. Make sure you tell the person you referred to put your name on the form where it says ‘How did you hear about this retreat?’ so we will know you referred them.

Referral discount does not apply for all retreats.

Can I pay with a payment plan?

In some cases we allow payment plans. Please email us at SweetRetreatsMexico@gmail.com to request a payment plan. Full tuition is always due prior to the date of the retreat.

Our retreats are advertised as one week. For example August 1-8. In this case, you would arrive on August 1 and depart on August 8. There are 5 days of classes on the retreat.

Here is an example of how the retreat would run:
August 1 – Arrivals, lunch, dinner, orientation
August 2 – Classes in the morning and afternoon

August 4 – Classes in the morning and afternoon
August 5 – No classes. Excursions to beach and baby turtle release
August 6 – Classes in the morning and afternoon / Evening trip to the night market
August 7 -Classes in the morning / Afternoon trip to the beach for sunset

Can I arrive a day early or stay a day later?

We are not able to accommodate any extra nights for most retreats.

Where should I stay in Puerto Escondido if I want to extend my vacation?

If you are arriving earlier and/or departing later than the days specified for your retreat, we recommend staying in a hotel, hostel, or airbnb in the neighborhood called ‘La Punta’ in Puerto Escondido.  There are plenty of great places to eat, shops, cafes, classes, etc and lots of interesting people to meet.  Anywhere you stay in la punta is walking distance to the beach. From there you can easily get to any of the other areas in Puerto Escondido.

If I want to come to 2 retreats back to back, how does that work?

We love having guests for longer than one week, and we highly recommend coming for 2 retreats back to back. If you sing up for 2 retreats back to back, the following guidelines apply:
You get a $100 USD discount.
-Your accommodations are free for the nights between retreats (up to 2 nights).
-Meals are not included during the time between retreats. We will give you great advice to explore and try new restaurants in town.

When do meals begin/end on the retreat?

Meals begin with lunch on arrival day and end with breakfast on departure day. Daily meal schedule is as follows:
7:30-9:30am – Breakfast
1pm – Lunch
3:30pm – Afternoon sweet treat and iced coffee/tea
7pm – Dinner
7:30pm – Dessert

Read more about our meals here.

What time is check in / check out?

Check in is after 12pm on arrival day. If you arrive before your room is ready, you can hang out by the pool while you wait.
Check out is by 10am on departure day. If you depart after 10am, you can hang out by the pool while you wait for your taxi.

Is my airport shuttle included in the price?

Your shuttle from the airport to Casa Chango is included in the price of your retreat as long as you arrive/depart to Puerto Escondido (PXM) airport on the designated days of the retreat. If you arrive a day early or depart a day later, you will have to pay for your own taxi. If you arrive/depart to a different airport, you will have to pay for your own taxi. We will send you information about how to get your own taxi upon request.

You can find our recommendations for booking travel on this page.
