a WEEK in PARADISE
BeTWIXT Int/Adv Aerial Hoop/Lyra Retreat with new friends, the beach, delicious, fresh, local food, and great training.

be•twixt is an aerial hoop retreat for anyone ready to research and develop their own work, learn new skills, explore sequences and build confidence in movement quality. This retreat is about the moments that make us individual artists. The moments that allow us to tap into our movement styles and lay a foundation for longterm curiosity.

BeTwixt will give you tools to drive your creative work with heightened internal direction and methods to use for artistic growth. This retreat will encourage you to take up space and help you feel alive in your creative process.

BeTWIXT will guide you towards a deeper authority of your art and broaden your aerial hoop repertoire. It’s going to be an all out aerial hoop frenzy and everything I have to share is on the table. You’ll get as much as I can give you in a week’s time.

About your Coach

Brit is a movement artist fostering mental and physical empowerment through formative and inspired aerial coaching. The path she’s chosen in this life has always been about manipulating her body in artistic ways. For 19 years she trained and competed nationally in classical ballet and contemporary dance. In a rebellious turn of events around 2006, she traded her pointe shoes for circus props and gallivanted all over the country slinging fire on the streets for money. Those adventures cannon-balled her into the world of circus, and so began the wild love affair she has with aerial arts today.

She’s currently living in Hawaii where she coaches and mentors students 1-1 across the globe. As a way to connect with a wider range of artists geographically, Brit spends time cooking up virtual intermediate/advanced level aerial hoop workshops and virtual learning opportunities for the hoop community. She continues to fall in love with the process of being a student herself by seeking high level coaches and mentors in the industry to further develop her work. She’s studied extensively in aerial and flexibility with numerous coaches and has completed a plethora of anatomy, aerial movement, dance and coaching specific training programs from industry leading professionals.

Her approach as a coach is largely focused on deep diving into how individual humans execute movement in an effort to increase the scope of possibility for all bodies in the air. In addition to Brit’s infatuation with efficient training and creative development, she is unwavering in her quest for longevity in this art form. She’s passionate about chasing knowledge and uncomfortable situations where personal growth is imminent. Brit’s often looking for ways to share her work with the community on a deeper level and is actively contributing as a coach in The Parish, a virtual space for aerialists of all levels and disciplines—founded by Circus Mobility.

  • Each participant is required to bring at least 1 home antigen test set (each set has 2 tests) to retreat. These help us identify whether or not a participant has covid if they show any symptoms of covid or if someone else tests positive. You can find at home antigen tests at most drug stores in the US or order then online.

We recommend research on travel and health insurance to help cover costs if that becomes necessary. Sweet Retreats staff will do everything in our power to take care of any sick participant.
    • Once the retreat is over, all retreat services will end and participants will be on their own. If anyone tests positive and cannot travel back to their home country, they can book accommodations locally. We will provide them with our contacts for doctors and food services, but we will not be able to continue caring for the individual We encourage all participants to be prepared with funds, research, and a back up plan just in case they get delayed and/or sick after the retreat is over.
